Welcome to the Fall 2020 semester!
As the oldest public university in the state, CCSU has a long history of survival
and success, and our deep commitment to quality, affordable, and accessible education
continues this fall.
Like everyone, we had to adapt to a “new normal” and we have learned quite a bit.
After campus went fully remote in March, 16 work groups began to map out how to address
the academic, social, and emotional needs of the campus community. They have since
developed virtual and limited in-person campus experiences using technology and creative
use of physical space with health protocols in mind. We call it the CCSU Blueprint for a Successful Fall Semester. (Read the whole plan here.)
From technology upgrades and reconfigured classrooms to isolation and quarantine plans,
this Blueprint informs Fall 2020 operations and events on campus. To learn more about
the Fall 2020 plans in the Blueprint, keep reading or click on the links to the left.
Please be aware that the plans and protocols outlined here can and must be adapted
as COVID-19 conditions change. We deeply appreciate your patience and Blue Devil spirit
throughout this unprecedented time and transition.
HyFlex & Remote Pathways
Over the summer, the university announced its decision to offer Fall 2020 classes
online and in a HyFlex format as a safety precaution amid the continuing COVID-19
pandemic. HyFlex courses are delivered in person and broadcast online at the same
time by the same faculty member. If pandemic conditions require campus to close again,
HyFlex course instructors will be ready to shift to an all-online format.

Student health and safety is our top priority, and we are adhering to guidelines and
recommendations issued by the Center for Disease Control, State of Connecticut, and
the Connecticut State College & University System.

CCSU has invested nearly $2 million in technological upgrades in response to the COVID-19
When campus closed down in March, the CCSU Information Technology team got to work
that day to make sure the campus community stayed connected. From communication and
online learning software to hardware rentals and support services, IT has been at
the forefront of CCSU’s transition to a hybrid educational institution.

At CCSU we strive to provide frequent opportunities for students to form friendships
and connect with the campus community. Students have, and always will, come first,
and student engagement during the Fall 2020 semester is more important than ever.
The Division of Student Affairs worked throughout the summer to develop virtual and
limited in-person campus experiences with health and safety protocols in mind.
