How do I apply for an AGILE scholarship?

Who is eligible for an AGILE scholarship?
Scholarship eligibility criteria are outlined in the Requirements section of this web site.
Do I need to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)?
Yes, you must have a demonstrated financial need to be eligible for an AGILE scholarship. Financial need (FN) is determined by the cost of attendance (COA) at CCSU and your estimated family contribution (EFC) as follows:
FN = COA - EFC

How much funding can I receive through AGILE scholarship program?
You can receive up to $10,000 per year. The specific amount of award for each regular semester (spring and fall) will be calculated as $5,000/9*N, where N is the number of credits you are enrolled in that semester. No scholarship award can be higher than the demonstrated financial need of the student as determined by CCSU Financial Aid Office. No funding is available during summer session or winter intersession.
Is the scholarship renewable?
For students fully admitted to the MS Software Engineering program, scholarships can be renewed for a total of two years on a full-time basis (9+ credits per semester) or up to three years on a half-time basis (6 credits per semester).
What if I am admitted to the MS Software Engineering program on a conditional basis?
You can receive the scholarship for up to one year while you are taking any prerequisite coursework needed to gain full admission to the MS Software Engineering program. Once you gain full admission to the program, you are eligible for up to three years of scholarship funding as described above.
How is the scholarship renewed?
Academic performance and continued eligibility will be reviewed every semester. Upon a successful review, scholarships will be renewed for the next semester. You do not need to re-apply for the scholarship every year.
If I receive AGILE scholarship, where this money can be applied to?
You can use the scholarship funds to pay tuition, buy books, and for other educational expenses.
Can I receive this scholarship for a summer semester or winter intersession?
No, this scholarship is only available during regular fall and spring semesters.
Can I receive other scholarships and financial aid if I receive AGILE scholarship?
Yes. Receipt of this scholarship does not prevent you from obtaining other scholarships or financial aid offered by CCSU. However, there is a possibility that loans and other federal funding you receive may be reduced.
Once I receive the scholarship, what do I have to do as an AGILE Scholar?
- Meet all requirements of the scholarship renewal criteria;
- Meet with your designated AGILE faculty mentor on a regular basis;
- Regularly attend meetings and events organized for AGILE scholars. These will include seminars on technical topics as well as informal meetings to help you learn about the university resources and how to be successful in your program of study;
- Participate in professional development activities;
- Participate in the program assessment activities, which may include filling out a survey and completing an interview with a member of the program management team.
