Academic Center for Student Athletes
The Academic Center for Student Athletes' mission is to foster an environment for students where they can learn to be responsible and productive citizens, ready to enter the workforce upon graduation. Our staff supports our student athletes with balancing their academics and athletics through one on one meetings with advisors, group workshops, supervised study hall, and academic advising. Through these interactions with advisors, student athletes are given the tools they need to reach their full potential and become thoughtful, responsible, and reliable leaders.
The TRiO programs are federal outreach programs designed to identify and provide services to individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. TRiO serves and assists low-income, first-generation college students, and/or individuals with disabilities as they progress through the academic pipeline from middle school to baccalaureate programs. Central Connecticut State University is now home to four TRiO Programs: Educational Talent Search (ETS), Upward Bound Math & Science (UBMS), Student Support Services (SSS), and Student Support Services – Teacher Preparation (SSS-Teacher Prep.).
