Guidance and Regulations
For Family, Friends, and Visitors at Commencement/Graduation on May 11, 2024

  1. Lines are common, please plan approximately 30 minutes to gain entrance to the event.
  2. Anyone planning to attend the commencement ceremonies must have a Commencement Ticket.
  3. No book bags are permitted inside the venue.
  4. Anyone carry a pocketbook will be required to have it open for inspection.
    1. You cannot utilize an Express Lane
  5. Only clear water bottles are permitted.
  6. Flowers and bouquets are permitted.
  7. No signs larger than 8 ½ x 11 (Letter Size)
  8. No Posters
  9. No noise makers / megaphones
  10. No Body Flags or Banners
  11. No Backpacks
  12. No floats/ballons/beachballs
  13. No Drinking containers other than clear water bottles
  14. No coolers
  15. No smoking or vaping
  16. No interruptions or disruptions

Please note that an individual or group activity that interrupts or disrupts the normal progression of the ceremonies is not permitted and is in violation of the student code of conduct and System Office policy. Individuals violating these rules may be subject to disciplinary action, including up to expulsion from the University. These individuals may also be subject to arrest for criminal trespass, pursuant to Connecticut General Statue 53A-107 Criminal Trespass. Additionally, any individual who is in violation of these rules may immediately be removed from the event.

No firearms, weapons or alcoholic beverages are permitted on the premises.

How do I take advantage of access to the Express Lanes when entering the stadium?

  1. No beverages other than water (clear bottle)
  2. No posters, banners, or other carried items
  3. No bookbags / No handbags
  4. Small clutch/purse/wallet is permissible.
