Education System--Input

Education System - Input is indexed with two variables.
1. Years of schooling is the total number of years of compulsory education.
2. Public expenditure on education expressed as a percentage of GDP.
Each variable is weighed equally for calculating the score for the categories. The scores are rank ordered by country.

Miller and McKenna (2016) trace the history of elementary and secondary schooling in the US and other key countries. This background is essential to an understanding of how these variables function in context and why they are important indicators.
