Steps for Creating/Requesting a Bb Vista Course Shell
(for faculty)


To create/request a Blackboard Vista course shell:

  1. Log into CentralPipeline and go to the Faculty tab.
  2. Choose the Vista Course Administration link at the bottom of the WebCentral-Banner Web for Faculty channel list.
  3. Select the appropriate term and click the Submit button.
  4. You will see a list of the sections you are teaching for the term.  Select Create Blackboard Vista Course from the drop down menu next to EACH of the sections. Once you have selected all of the sections needed, click the Submit button. The textbox next to the section will change to Blackboard Vista Course Exists.  This creates the Blackboard Vista course shells for you automatically (it may take 5-10 minutes for the process to complete).

CROSS-LISTING/COMBINING SECTIONS
Once you have created all of the necessary Blackboard Vista course shells, you have the ability to cross-list/combine sections. You must be sure the section says Blackboard Vista Course Exists prior to requesting cross-listing.  You can go to the cross-listing request form at any time after the shells are created but before you start modifying content.  It does not have to be done at the time of the shell request.  Cross-listing is a semi-manual procedure and will not happen automatically.  It may take a few days to process the requests.  You will be notified when the request is completed.
