Present: R. Campbell (Chair), E. Carte, A. Cortes, L. Gargamelli, A. Portilla, D. Ross, R. Schneeweiss, J. Zytka
Chairman Campbell called the meeting to order at 5:16 p.m. He called on Ms. Gargamelli to give the Budget Committee report. She announced she will meet with Mr. Guillette.
There was no House Committee report.
Mr. Zytka gave a brief Student Services Committee report. He spoke of his association with the proposed establishment of a Commuter Student Association.
Ms. Gargamelli gave highlights in the Program Council report. The Spring Week committee has decided the theme will be Maylennium; Mudstock will be Sunday, May 2; the Spring Break Cancun trip has 43 students on it; and, this month’s films were A Bug’s Life and Star Trek.
MOTION (E. Carte/J. Zytka) To ratify Mr. Alexander Cortes as the Program Council at-large member to the SUBOG.
Motion passed (6 approved, 0 against, 0 abstained) (SUBOG 99-4)
Mr. Zytka reported on the SUBOG Recognition ‘99 dinner.
Mr. Campbell reported on the SUBOG presence at the Vance Lecture. On behalf of SUBOG, Campbell presented President George Bush with a CCSU sweatshirt and baseball cap.
General Comments: Dean Ross said there would be a presentation on March 30 at 2:30 p.m. in the Constitution Room of Memorial Hall featuring the Master Plan for the campus. He also noted Dr. Judd’s heart surgery went successfully.
Mr. Campbell noted that at the April 22 meeting, there will be nominations for the 1999-2000 Board chair.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 5:40 p.m.
