Chairman Campbell called the meeting to order at 5:11 p.m. The first order of business was to ratify two new members.
MOTION (E.
Carte/L. Calabrese) To ratify Mr. Chris Chenette as the new
Center Assistant Representative
and Ms. Allison Cimiano as the Graduate
Student Representative for the remainder of this Boards
term.
Motion passed (7 approved, 0 against, 0 abstained) (SUBOG 99-1) Ms. Gargamelli gave the Budget Committee report. The Committee did not meet. She has called Chartwells to set up a meeting with them concerning the Committees adopted goal. Ms. Calabrese reported the House Committee did not meet. She is preparing letters for student organizations concerning extended hours.
Mr. Zytka reported on behalf of the Student Services Committee. He is meeting with Mr. Floyd, Assistant Director of Student Activities/Leadership Development, about the end-of-year party.
Mr. Schneeweiss reported on behalf of the Ad Hoc Committee working on the Bricks Project. He has spoken with Ms. Cayer, Director of Development and Alumni Affairs. She will meet with the Committee in the weeks to come.
Ms. Gargamelli gave the Program Council Report on behalf of Ms. Lamont (PC President). She highlighted the effective PC Retreat at Camp Woodstock on January 23-24, as well as outlining the upcoming Winter Weekend and the sale of 1000 tickets for the Dave Matthews show at the Oakdale.
Mr. Orloske gave the renovation report update. Fifty percent of the contract construction design should be done by February 11. The Student Center will give unneeded furniture to the library for more comfortable study space. The Bookstore will not move until after the fall rush.
A web site is currently being developed to keep people informed as to the buildings developments.
A discussion then ensued as to how to proceed in naming the new rooms in the Student Center. The House Committee will make a presentation on this. The possibilities of themes such as historic to Connecticut or Centrals past are being considered.
The dates for the spring semester SUBOG meetings are February 25, March 18, April 2, and May 6.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 6:17 p.m.
