Dear Colleagues and Students,

First of all, I want to thank you for taking the time to peruse this booklet. Tech4U is your gateway to the countless technology resources available at the University. If you don’t know we have it, what good is it? So again, I thank you for taking the time to see what is available to you.

As this book enters its fourth edition, we’ve tried to make it easier to read by condensing some sections and expanding others. If you feel there is anything missing or confusing, please let us know so that we can incorporate your suggestions in our next go-round. And as India Arie put it, “the only thing constant in the world is change,” so before this booklet even comes back from the printers there may be sections that are out of date. This site is a great place to submit any suggestions you have, just click on the “Feedback” link.

Many hours were spent this year updating this booklet. New graphics were created, new sections were added, and lots of time was spent proofing and editing. I’d like to give a special thanks to Tina Rivera-Rowe who performed the bulk of the updating and Danielle Amaral-LeBlanc for graphics and cover design. Countless others in the department and around campus also helped verify the accuracy of the information as well as with proofing. I thank you all.

Happy computing!
