 Where should we park?

Students having a University Parking Pass may park in lots designated for student parking (lots are marked).  It is recommended that family members park in the North Parking Garage, East Parking Garage or behind the Student Center.  Note: Please be sure to park in on-campus lots only.  Please do not park in area businesses as that will result in towing.

  What should we wear?

Students and their guests should wear comfortable (casual) clothes and shoes.

Will I see my son or daughter during the day?

Family members are invited to attend orientation on Sunday, August 29.  There are two different schedules for orientation; one for students and another for family members.  During part of the program students and family members will have the same schedule, while other parts will feature separate activities for students and families.  The day will end on Sunday for family members around 4:00 PM when they say good-bye to their students.

Do students stay on campus during orientation?

Students who will be living on campus during the Fall 2004 semester will move into their assigned rooms on Saturday, August 28th between the hours of 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM.  Unfortunately, on-campus housing will not be available to commuting students during orientation.

What do students do during the one-day orientation?

Orientation highlights include:  informational programs, meeting with your Central Orientation Leaders and Advisors (COLA’s), and much more.

Do students need to attend Orientation?

Yes!  Our research shows that students who attend orientation do better   academically.  Orientation offers a chance to meet other students, as   well as faculty.  These factors are essential in academic success.

Where can we stay overnight?

Visitors to our campus have used the hotels listed on the enclosed sheet.  Some hotels in the area may offer a discount to Central family members, so inquire about that.
