Dear Student:
We hope that you are
enjoying the summer and that you are looking forward to joining the
Central Connecticut State University community this fall. We are
looking forward to your arrival and we know you will find CCSU to be a
challenging and supportive environment for your intellectual and
personal growth.
The first semester
at any new institution can be overwhelming as you adjust to campus
life. In an effort to provide an easy transition to CCSU, we invite you
to attend the First Year Student Orientation Program being held on
Saturday, August 28 and Sunday, August 29, 2004. Family members are invited to participate on Sunday, August 29,
where a special program has been planned for them as well.
Here is important
information to help you plan for the program:
·
Students living in residence halls may move into their residence hall on Saturday,
August 28 between the hours of 2 pm and 6 pm.
Please go directly to your assigned residence hall where you will be
able to move in to your room. After moving in, please plan to check in
for the Orientation Program at the Orientation Registration tent closest
to your hall. The tents will be large, blue and clearly marked. The
information they will provide you will explain all of the activities for
the two-day program.
·
Commuter students
should arrive to check in for orientation in the Student
Center lobby on Saturday, August 28 between the hours of 5 pm and 7 pm.
Check-in for this two-day program will also be held in the Student
Center lobby on Sunday, August 29 starting at 8:00 am. Our student
program starts on Saturday night with many opportunities to meet other
students, so don’t miss out!
·
International Students:
A required Orientation Session is going to be held for International
Students on Friday, August 27. More information will be provided
through a separate mailing from the Center for International Education.
For international student pre-arrival information, please contact the
Center for International Education at (860) 832-2040.
To participate in
Orientation 2004, please complete the enclosed registration form and
return it by August 20th in the postage-paid envelope
provided, or register on-line at
http://www.ccsu.edu/studentaffairs/orientation04/signup.htm.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the
Student Affairs Office at (860) 832-1601.
See you in September!
Sincerely,
Duane
