Student Affairs Mission Statement
Mission:
The Division of Student Affairs is dedicated to supporting a
student-centered learning environment that encourages student
development and inspires student success.
Philosophy: Integral to
American university life, in all its diversity, the Division of Student
Affairs fosters a unique, united campus culture, that nurtures students
while challenging them to fulfill their potential.
Goals:

To
promote students’ rights, freedoms, and responsibilities through
progressive programs and services which equip the whole student
through spiritual, physical, cognitive, and ethical development.

To
empower students through open and accessible student-centered programs
and services which involve them in relevant decisions and which
include them in the campus community’s traditions.

To
promote student, faculty and staff diversity to ensure fairness and
equitability.

To
foster sincere cooperation with other divisions of the University,
model vital collaboration within the Division, and demonstrate
excellence in all the departments of the Division.

To improve divisional effectiveness by using established planning strategies,
such as Continuous Quality Improvement, and by using quantitative and
qualitative methods to monitor performance.
