Continue to consider an academic reorganization
with the goal in mind of finding ways to become more efficient and helpful
in providing services to faculty and students.
·
Form Committee to continue planning
about the best way to solve the “workload crisis” in the School of Arts
and Sciences.
-
Incorporate Graduate Admissions Office into the
Graduate School.
Rationale. In an effort to gain efficiency
and improve coordination, it is desirable to centralize the graduate
recruitment and admissions process under the leadership of the Graduate
School. This transition will make it more feasible to achieve the desired
enrollment growth for full- and part-time graduate students.
-
Enhance present registration efforts by developing a centralized,
shared process between the Registrar’s Office and the Enrollment Center.
Rationale.
As part of our efforts to improve student and faculty registration
services, we desire to develop a combined registration area that is
staffed with personnel from both offices. These individuals will be
cross-trained and capable of responding to all registration/enrollment
requests regardless of the semester in question. By sharing personnel
and equipment resources, it will be possible to expand the hours of
operation and the quality of our registration services.
