Central Connecticut State University

Community
(This plan was approved in 2004. In spring 2008, a new strategic plan, based in part on the plan of 2004, was approved by the Faculty Senate. The strategic plan of 2008, now in force and replacing the 2004 plan, will soon be available online.)

Designed for Today with a Foundation for Tomorrow

We recognize and value our campus community and its diversity. The people of CCSU reflect the rich diversity of our neighboring communities and, increasingly, the global community. Most of our students come to us directly out of high school. About 20 percent in residence halls. Many transfer from community colleges to complete bachelor’s degrees, and others attend our graduate programs. The largest proportion of our students, however, drive in from central Connecticut homes and workplaces. Connected by the Internet, their places in their community become our extended campus.  We are distinguished by commuting and hard-working central Connecticut citizens who choose us to help them obtain a good education, to advance their careers,  and to improve the quality of their lives.

We are a university that has a diverse student population. We are proud of our accessibility. We value the progress we have made in enhancing the overall quality of our student population over the past several years and the support we provide   for all of our students to reach their full potential.
