The School of Education and Professional Studies (SEPS) has a long history of training
educators and human service professionals, beginning with the establishment of the
New Britain Normal School—CT's first teacher training institution—in 1849. Today,
SEPS is recognized as a leader in both education and other human service fields, including
nursing, counseling, and social work. We invite you to explore our many academic programs
and learn about the experiences of our students.
