Undergraduate Student Registration for Spring 2009

Academic Advising for the Spring 2009 semester: Monday, October 27 - Friday, November 7, 2008.
Web registration will start on Monday, November 10.

In order to register for the Spring 2009 semester, you will need to meet with your academic advisor between Monday, October 27, and Friday, November 7.  Your advisor will provide you with a new "Alternate Personal Identification Number (PIN)" that you will need to register (the PIN that you received for the fall semester will not work for the Spring 2009 semester).  Your advisor will also help to ensure that your course selections for the spring semester fulfill requirements for your degree.

To find out the name of your advisor, open CentralPipeline, click on "Student" tab, then on "Student Records Menu," then on "View Student Information." Please refer to information provided by your department or academic school to determine the advising schedule for your advisor.

To prepare for the meeting with your advisor, you will need to complete the following tasks:

  1. Print and bring your Degree Evaluation for your major.  You can access your Degree Evaluation through CentralPipeline (click on "Student" tab, then on "Degree Evaluation" in the left-hand "Web Central-Banner Web For Students" menu).  For more information about the Degree Evaluation, including instructions on using and reading your degree evaluation, please visit our website http://www.ccsu.edu/registrar/degree_eval.htm.
  2. Print and bring a copy of your unofficial transcript from CentralPipeline at http://pipeline.ccsu.edu
  3. Review the General Education requirements in the 2007-2009 University catalog (pages 49-54) or the Undergraduate catalog in effect at the time you matriculated in your current program at the university.
  4. Identify courses you would tentatively like to take for the Spring 2009 semester.

Web registration will start on Monday, November 10.  You may register online from your own computer or, if you require help, an assistant from the Registrar's Office will be available at the Registrar's Office/Enrollment Center in Willard Hall, room 111 (Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.).

To register online, you will need to log in to CentralPipeline (http://luminis.ccsu.edu/cp/home/loginf).  (You may need to choose another password if your old password has expired.  If this is the case, you can reset your password by logging in to https://accounts.ccsu.edu/wacctmgt/.)  Instructions for registering on the web, the Web Registration Guide (PDF format), may be found on the Registrar's webpage at http://www.ccsu.edu/registrar.  Web registration instructions will also be available in the Spring 2009 Course Bulletins.

Your actual registration date and start time is determined by your cumulative hours earned at the end of your last semester.  To determine your "Cumulative Credits Earned," in CentralPipeline, click on the the "Student" tab, then on "Student Records Menu", then on "Academic Transcript."  In the chart below, your Registration Date and Start Time are listed on the same row as the number for your "Cumulative Credits Earned".

Before you can register, you will be prompted to review and update your permanent address, a name and address of someone to contact in case of an emergency, and your local address (address other than your permanent, if you have one).  You can review and update this information now, so you will not have to do it later at the time of registration.  (Log in to CentralPipeline, click on the "Student" tab, then on "Personal Information," then on "Update Contact Information.")

Please note:  Students who have health or financial holds on their record will not be permitted to register.  To find out if you have a "Registration Hold" that will keep you from registering on time, in CentralPipeline, click o the "Student" tab, then on "Registration-Add/Drop Classes", then on "Check Your Registration Status."

The registration schedule is as follows.  Note: Once your registration time arrives, you may continue to register at any point beyond the start time:

Important Billing Information

  • CCSU has an all e-billing and e-payment system.  A paper bill will not be mailed to your home.  You will be accountable for timely response to University e-correspondence, therefore, it is every student's responsibility to keep his/her CCSU email preferences up-to-date via our accounts management program in CentralPipeline.  For e-billing information, click here http://www.bursar.ccsu.edu/Ebill_info.htm.

The University has two fees that impact on the registration process of students.

  • Students failing to pay their fees when due, may be assessed a $50 late fee and may also be administratively withdrawn and have their schedule of courses dropped.  A non-refundable Re-registration Fee of $100.00 will be charged to those registering again for the same term.
  • In addition to the applicable Tuition/Required Fees, full-time students registering for more than 18 credits will be assessed Excess Credit Fees for each credit beyond 18.  These fees are non-refundable and will NOT be deleted if, at a later time, the total credits number less than 19

*Note: New Incoming Freshmen starting Spring 2009 will register through the First Year Student Interest Survey and on the Freshmen Orientation Day.  For more information, please visit our First Year Student website (website coming soon).

Sincerely,

Susan Petrosino
