General Information Regarding CCSU Scholarships

The online scholarship application is now closed.  Applications received before February 19, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. will be compiled and distributed to the appropriate review committees where selections are determined.  Due to the number of applications received, only those students who are selected to receive scholarships are notified via e-mail.

Alumni seeking information on the Alumni Association Legacy Scholarship, please email cayerc@ccsu.edu for an application.  Applications must be received by May 10, 2013.

To the left are links to the scholarships offered by the CCSU Foundation.  These links will open pages which describe the scholarships that are available to students at Central Connecticut State University.  For each scholarship listed, there is a brief description of the criteria for eligibility and special application instructions, if any.  Where applicable, the required academic major, minor, or concentration appears in brackets [ ] next to the scholarship name,   Please pay strict attention to the academic requirements and to the criteria description and apply only for those scholarships for which you are eligible.  In most cases, full-time status is required in order to receive the scholarship..

The online application period is now open and will remain open until 5:00 p.m. on February 19, 2013.  Unless otherwise noted, applications must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. on February 19, 2013 to be considered. In most cases, scholarship applications are reviewed annually in the spring semester and awarded for the following academic year.  The process takes place only once a year.

We do not expect incoming first year students to be familiar with our selection process and, for this reason, the Office of Recruitment and Admissions, in consultation with the appropriate academic departments, makes nominations based on the admissions application.

Copies of the completed applications will be forwarded to the appropriate review committees where the selections are determined.  The nominations are then forwarded to the University Scholarship Committee for approval.  Due to the number of applications received, only those students who are selected to receive scholarships are notified via e-mail.

Scholarship award amounts vary and range anywhere from $100 to full in-state tuition.  Generally, scholarship awards of $1,000 or less are applied to fall semester charges.  Scholarship awards greater than $1,000 are normally split evenly between the fall and spring semesters.

NOTE:  In order to apply for these scholarships, you must be a matriculated student or accepted for admission as a matriculated student at CCSU.  A CCSU BlueNet username and password is required to complete the application.

CONTINUING STUDENTS: Use your BlueNet username and password to log in to the Online Scholarship Application.

INCOMING (NEW) STUDENTS: Once you have a CCSU ID number, go to: https://webapps.ccsu.edu/accounts/ to activate your BlueNet account and receive your BlueNet username.

You may submit only one application but you can apply for multiple scholarships using the single application.  When you enter the application site, you may save an unfinished application and return later to complete it.  The application is not considered complete until you click on "Submit."  Once you "Submit" the application, you may not return to edit it.

After you "Submit," you will be given an opportunity to print a copy of your application receipt.  You are encouraged to do so since this will be your only record of the scholarships for which you have applied.  You will receive an e-mail acknowledging receipt of your online application.

The information contained on these pages is subject to change without notice.
