The UMC: University, Museum, Community Collaborative

The UMC is a biennial event that brings together members of the New Britain Community and students and faculty from the Central Connecticut State University to celebrate art and community at the New Britain Museum of American Art. Participants are asked to present pieces of artistic expression relating to the chosen theme.

Central Connecticut State University is a community of learners dedicated to teaching and scholarship that emphasizes development and application of knowledge and ideas through research and outreach activities, and prepares students to be thoughtful, responsible and successful citizens.

“Erected By the People for
the Use of the People,”
the
New Britain Museum of American Art is dedicated
to serving all people by
pursuing excellence in art through collections, exhibitions, and education.

Community Central is a connection point between CCSU, New Britain Schools, and the New Britain community. We help to facilitate connections and collaborations that lead to positive change for all parties involved. Our programs and events promote learning, service, and entrepreneurship.
