Renowned Connecticut
Trio Performs Benefit Concert,
Nov 9
|
The
Connecticut Trio
will perform a concert as
a fundraiser for Music Department
student scholarships, to
be awarded to worthy students
of violin, cello and piano.
The program includes two
of the loveliest works in
the Romantic repertoire
-- the Schubert B-flat Trio,
and the Arensky D Minor
Trio. Reserved parking
will be available in the
President's parking lot
in front of Davidson (for
advance donors and seniors),
as well as in the Welte
Garage. The concert itself
is free, donations are optional.
Contributions can be made

Scholarship). You may also
contribute at the concert.

Veterans Day at CCSU,
Nov 11
|
|
As part of Veterans Day
ceremonies, the
University will honor
CCSU student veteran
Staff Sergeant Sharon
Khan with the Student
Veterans Excellence
Award and Scholarship.
The University will also
present the CCSU Public
Service Award for
Excellence to Kazimierz
Zawadzki, a member of
the Polish Air Force in
WWII and a member of the
General J. Haller Post.
The ceremony will be
held Nov. 11 at 3:00 pm,
near the Veterans
Monument in the Student
Center Circle.

Community Central Opens;
Next Step
in
CCSU'S Community Engagement

When
Community Central opened its doors
on November 4, Central Connecticut
State University significantly expanded
its presence in downtown New Britain
with a pedestrian-friendly, student-oriented
space. The center was developed
with the goal of inspiring and supporting
collaboration among students and
the community, to stimulate business
and learning, and deepen the University's
participation in the life of New
Britain.

Men's X-Country Wins Second
Straight NEC Title
|
The
Central Connecticut men's cross
country team won its second consecutive
Northeast Conference Championship
behind the effort of senior Ry Sanderson,
Junior Sam Alexander and sophomore
Craig Hunt. Sanderson won in 24:50,
setting a new record for the 8K
course at Stanley Park. Coach Eric
Blake '02 was again named the Northeast
Conference Coach of the Year.

Cruise Alaska! Alumni Association
Offers Exciting Cruise with Bargains
|

|
The CCSU Alumni Association is sponsoring
a vista-filled cruise along the coastline
of Alaska. Waypoints include: Vancouver,
Inside Passage, Ketchikan, Icy Strait Point,
Hubbard Glacier, Kodiak, Sitka, and Wrangell.
Plus, "double bonus savings" if booked by
December 15.

alumni support illustrates
why CCSU is in such strong
financial shape. In 2009-10,
more than 4,000 donors contributed
over $3 million to the University.
Our alumni increased their
level of giving to more
than $549,000—a 14.2% increase
over last year’s record-breaking
amount. The Annual Report
