Important Dates for the 2012-2013 Academic Year

Payment of bills for the Fall semester is due July 15

Payment of bills for the Spring semester is due December 15   

Fall Opening Day for Freshmen Students: Sunday, August 26, 2012

• Information regarding move in times and instructions will be included in the housing assignment letter that will be e-mailed to each resident student's CCSU e-mail account during the month of August

Fall Opening Day for Returning and Transfer Students: Tuesday, August 28, 2012

• Information regarding move in times and instructions will be included in the housing assignment letter that will be e-mailed to each resident student's CCSU e-mail account

 The first day of classes is Wednesday, August 29, 2012

Thanksgiving Closing: Wednesday, November 21, 2012

• Residence Halls close at noon.
• Before leaving students should empty their trash, unplug all appliances (refrigerators may remain plugged in) and close and lock their windows.
• Students who need to remain in the residence halls during this break must apply and be approved to stay by the Department of Residence Life.
  • Applications must be submitted by Monday, November 19, 2012
• Residence Halls will reopen on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at 3:00 pm.

Fall Semester Closing: Tuesday, December 18, 2012

• Residence Halls close at 8:00 pm
• Students must leave 24 hours after their last exam or by 8:00pm on December 18, 2012 (whichever comes first).
  • Students needing to stay past 8:00 pm for academic reasons should speak with their Area Coordinator/Resident Director to obtain an extension.
• Before leaving students must empty their trash, unplug all appliances including refrigerators, and close and lock their windows.
• Any student who needs to remain in the Residence Halls for the Winter Session must apply and be approved to stay by the Department of Residence Life.
• All students living in the Residence Halls during the 2012-2013 Winter Session will be housed in Carroll Hall beginning on Thursday, December 19, 2012

Reminder: Carroll Hall is the break building for the 2012 - 2013 Winter Session.  All students living in Carroll Hall for the Fall 2012 semester must completely move out during Fall Semester Closing

Spring Opening Day for All Resident Students: Sunday, January  13, 2013

• Resident students may move in between the hours of 10:00 am and 4:00 pm

 The first day of classes is Monday, January 14, 2013

Spring Break Closing: Friday, March 22, 2013

• Residence Halls close at 3:00 pm.
  • Students needing to stay past 3:00 pm for academic reasons should speak with their Area Coordinator/Resident Director to obtain an extension.
• Students who need to remain in the residence halls during this break must apply and be approved to stay by the Department of Residence Life.
  • Applications must be submitted by Wednesday, March 20, 2013
• Before leaving students should empty their trash, unplug all appliances (refrigerators may remain plugged in) and close and lock their windows.
• Residence Halls will reopen on Sunday, March 31, 2013 at 3:00 pm.

Spring Semester Closing: Thursday, May 9, 2013

• Residence Halls close at 8:00 pm.
• Students must leave 24 hours after their last exam or by 8:00 pm on May 9, 2013 (whichever comes first).
  • Students needing to stay longer for academic reasons should speak with their Area Coordinator/Resident Director to obtain an extension.
• Before leaving students must empty their room of all belongings, return their room to its original condition and follow the check out procedures for their residence hall.
