Important
Information for Part-time Students and Veterans
Part- Time Students
On June 11, 2009, the Board
of Trustees for the Connecticut State University System approved a change in the
way you are charged for courses as a part- time student in the fall and spring
semesters. This change will take effect with the upcoming fall 2009 semester.
Previously, you were charged
a per-credit-hour Course Fee for your courses.
Starting in the fall 2009,
you will be charged Part-Time Tuition and a Part-Time General University Fee;
each of these will be charged per credit hour. The total of these two charges
will equal the FY2009-10 per-credit-hour Course Fee that you were previously
charged.
You will continue to be
charged a Registration Fee.
The bill you may have already
received for the fall 2009 semester shows your course charges as a Course Fee.
After the change is complete, the eBill system will show these charges restated
as Part-Time Fees and
Tuition/Required Fees.
YOUR TOTAL
PER-CREDIT CHARGE WILL NOT CHANGE.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
If you receive tuition reimbursement through your employer or other third party,
you may want to inquire about what charges are covered under their respective
reimbursement policies.
You should be sure to pay
your bill by the due date, even if you do not yet see the changes.
If you have questions about
your bill, please contact the Bursar’s Office at
billing-bursar@ccsu.edu.
Veteran Students
Any veteran who is eligible
for and has elected to receive benefits under the new Post 9/11 G.I. Bill may
begin using the benefit August, 1, 2009, for classes that begin on or after that
date.
The bill you may have already
received for the fall 2009 semester may include a waiver of tuition:
HOWEVER, the benefits you receive under the Post 9/11 G.I. Bill will be applied
to your tuition and fees FIRST; any remaining tuition will be waived by
us. You will be responsible for any remaining fee balance.
It is important that you
notify the campus Veterans Coordinator (Chris
Gutierrez, 860.832.2838) of your application for benefits under the Post
9/11 G.I. Bill. You also need to notify the Veterans Coordinator if your
application for benefits under the Post 9/11 G.I. Bill has been denied or
withdrawn.
If you have additional
questions about your benefits under the Post 9/11 G.I. Bill, you may also
contact your local Veterans Affairs District Office or outreach location, or
visit their website at
http://www.gibill.va.gov/GI_Bill_Info/CH33/Post-911.htm.
