Carmine J. Abate Scholarship (2003) [Construction Management or Civil Engineering]

  • Provides support for students who are graduates of New Britain High School, who participated in varsity football at the high school, and who meet all entrance requirements for admission to CCSU as a first-time, full-time, matriculated undergraduate.  Preference will be given to applicants who enroll in the Construction Management or Civil Engineering Technology majors.

Anthony & Helen G. Bichum Scholarship (2007) [School of Engineering & Technology]

  • Support for selected incoming first-year and transfer students accepted for admission into the School of Engineering and Technology. First-year students must rank in the top third of their graduating class and have achieved a minimum of 1100 on the SAT. Transfer students must have an overall collegiate grade point average of 3.5 or higher for all work completed at accredited colleges with a minimum of 30 semester hours completed.

Special Application Instructions:

Students who meet the minimum criteria are nominated annually by the Director of Recruitment and Admissions and reviewed by the Dean and Faculty of the School of Engineering and Technology. Applications are not accepted for this scholarship.

Jack Arute, Sr. Scholarship (2032) [Construction Management or Civil Engineering]

  • Provides support for graduates of New Britain High or E.C. Goodwin Technical School accepted to CCSU with a declared major of Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Technology.  Candidates must have SAT scores of 1000 or higher, rank in the top third of their graduating class with demonstrated leadership in extra-curricular or community activities.

Foundation Scholars (2150)

  • Provides support for selected incoming first-year students who rank in the top 25% of their graduating class and have achieved a minimum of 1100 on the SAT.

    Special Application Instructions:

Ten recipients who meet the minimum criteria are nominated annually by the Director of Recruitment and Admissions.  Applications are not accepted for this scholarship.

CBA Construction Law Scholarship (2182) [Construction Management or Civil Engineering]

  • Provides support for matriculated undergraduate students enrolled in the Construction Management or Civil Engineering Technology degree programs who have completed a minimum of 15 semester hours in residence at CCSU with an earned gpa of 3.0 or higher.  Incoming students who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement in high school and on the SAT exam with an evidence of planning, design, management or supervisory experience in field operations of building or heavy/highway construction projects may also be considered.

Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) – Hartford Chapter Scholarship (2303)

  • Provides support for a first year student at CCSU whose academic and career interests are in the area of construction management or civil engineering technology and who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement in high school and on the SAT exam.

Friends of New Britain High School Football Scholarship (2420)

  • Provides support for students who have graduated from New Britain High School, participated in varsity football at the high school, and who have successfully completed one semester of full-time undergraduate study at CCSU.  Recipients must have earned at least 15 semester hours of credit with a minimum grade point average of 2.5 (out of 4.0). 

W. Terry Owens/Ann Murtha Scholarship (2430)

  • Provides support for a New Britain High School graduating senior who participated in varsity football.

Anna Bubser-Judd Trust Scholarship (2491)

  • Provides support for students from Hartford or West Hartford, Connecticut with evidence of academic achievement, community involvement, demonstrated leadership, and commitment to diversity.  First year students must place in the top 40% of their graduating class or have a combined SAT of 1,000 or more.  Transfer students must have a minimum of 30 credits and a 2.7 cumulative average.  Students must be enrolled full-time for the award period.

Helen Garabedian Scholarship (2545)

  • Provides support for students of Armenian decent.  Incoming students must have an SAT score of 1050 or higher, and rank in the top third of their graduating class.  Continuing students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and must have completed 15 credit hours per semester.

Thomas F. Martucci Scholarship (2580)

  • Provides support for graduating seniors at Rockville High School in Vernon, CT who are in good academic and disciplinary standing, have a demonstrated record of participation and leadership in extra-curricular activities, and are accepted for enrollment as incoming first-year students at Central Connecticut State University.

Paul K. Rogers Scholarship (2805) [School of Business or School of Engineering & Technology]

  • Provides support for incoming first-year students pursuing a major in business or industrial technology.

Scott Pioli Scholarship (2815)
  • Provides support for a student at CCSU who has been assisted by participation in the program College For Every Student (formerly the Foundation for Excellent Schools).

David T. Rybczyk Scholarship (2821)

  • Provides support for students who graduated from Plainville High School, participated in or supported varsity athletics at the high school, and who have been accepted for admission as a first-year, first-time student(s) at Central Connecticut State University. 

Paul J. Sorbo Jr. Scholarship (2827)

  • Provides support for incoming first-year students who have been accepted for admission to the University in the fall semester following their graduation from Windsor High School.  Applicants are expected to pursue a degree leading to certification in any of the University's teacher preparation programs.

WKND Scholarship Initiative Scholarship (2970)

  • Provides support to first year, full-time matriculated undergraduates who are graduates of an accredited high school in Hartford, East Hartford, Bloomfield and Windsor and who scored 1000 or higher on their SAT, ranked in the top third of their class and demonstrate leadership in school and community extracurricular activities.

Michael J. D’Amato Scholarship (4100) [Construction Management]

  • Provides funds to support a full-time student enrolled at CCSU in the Construction Management program.

Duffy Family Scholarship (4180) [School of Engineering & Technology]

  • Provides support for continuing students in the School of Technology who show evidence of outstanding academic and career potential, or incoming first-year students with high academic achievement.  Financial need may be considered at the discretion of the faculty.

Timothy D. Shine Scholarship (4510) [Chemistry]

  • Provides support for incoming first-year student or a continuing student majoring in Chemistry.

Sandy Hook Memorial Scholarship (9428)

  • Provides support for selected incoming first-year students who rank in the top 25% of their graduating class and have achieved a minimum of 1100 on the SAT.  Preference will be given to graduates of Newtown High School.

    Special Application Instructions:

Recipients who meet the minimum criteria are nominated annually by the Director of Recruitment and Admissions.  Applications are not accepted for this scholarship.
