Fall Semester 2009

 
August 29First-year students in Vance Hall & Barrows Hall: move in 8:00am to 10:00am. First-year students in all other halls: move in 9:00am to 11:30am
August 30Returning students move in 10:00am to 4:00pm
August 31Classes begin; Last day for full-time students to withdraw with 100% refund
September 7Labor Day Holiday - No Classes
August 31- Sept. 8Add/Drop Period
September 8Last day to change from part-time to full-time status; Last day for part-time students to drop with 100% refund
September 9 - 22 Full-time students may drop courses but cannot drop below full-time status (need Dean's approval)
September 15 Final day for graduate students to apply for December 2009 graduation (Graduate Studies)
September 15Last day for full-time students to withdraw with 60% refund. Last day to drop first eight-week courses;
September 16-28 Withdrawal from first eight-week courses without approval. "W" will be entered
September 21 Last day to change from full-time to part-time status
September 22 Last day to declare Pass/Fail or Audit options; Last day for part-time students to drop with 50% refund
Sept. 23 - Oct. 26 Withdrawal from full semester courses without approval. "W" will be entered.
September 28 Last day for full-time students to withdraw with 40% refund; Last day to withdraw from first eight-week courses without approval. "W" will be entered: Midterm for first eight-week courses
October 1 Last day for graduate students to apply for comprehensive exams for December 2009 graduation (Graduate Studies)
October 26 Midterm; Last day to withdraw from full-semester courses without approval. "W" will be entered;  First eight-week courses end
October 27Second eight-week courses begin
November 10 Last day to drop second eight-week courses
November 23 Last day for full-time students to withdraw from the University; midterm for second eight-week courses; Last day to withdraw from second eight-week courses without approval. "W" will be entered.
November 25-29 Thanksgiving Recess - No Classes
November 30Classes resume 8:00 a.m.
December 1 Final day for undergraduates to apply for December 2010 graduation (Registrar's Office). Last day for students to enroll in Spring Break Courses Abroad and Apply for Course Abroad scholarships
December 10Last Day of Classes
December 11 Reading Day (No Day or Evening Classes)
December 12-18 Final Exams
December 19Semester Ends

March 1 Final day for graduate students to apply for May 2010 and August 2010 graduate degree award (Graduate Studies)
March 19 Midterm; Last day to withdraw from full-semester courses without approval. "W" will be entered; First eight-week courses end
March 22-27Spring Recess - No Classes
March 29 Classes resume 8 a.m.; Second eight-week courses begin

Last day for students to enroll in Second Summer Session Courses Abroad and apply for Course Abroad scholarships; Last day for students to apply to study abroad at CCSU Partner Programs (full semester or year); Last day for students to apply for Study Abroad Scholarships

April 2-3 Good Friday (A Day of Reflection) - No Classes
April 12 Last day to drop second eight-week courses
April 15 Final submission of thesis & dissertation to Graduate Studies for inclusion in May 2010 commencement booklet
April 23 Midterm for second eight-week courses;  Last day to withdraw from second eight-week courses without approval. "W" will be entered.
April 26 Last day for full-time students to withdraw from the University;
May 3Final day for undergraduates to apply for May 2011 graduation (Registrar's Office)
May 12 Last Day of  classes
May 13-14Reading Days (No Day or Evening Classes)
May 15Deadline for faculty to submit proposals for 2011 Courses
Abroad (Winter, Spring, and Summer sessions)

May 22 Semester Ends; Undergraduate  Commencement;
