What Some of Our Students Are Saying

"Students will find the faculty nurturing and motivating. The faculty excel at providing the necessary structure for students to apply principles to the business world, while adding inspiration, enthusiasm, and excitement to the coursework.”

– Vanessa C. Broadnax, 2005, MS, Technology Management

“Thanks to the personal attention of the faculty, not only did I acquire thorough knowledge of major areas of theoretical linguistics, but I also became skilled at teaching English to non-native speakers. I would highly recommend the program to those who aspire to a career in the field.”

– Krystyna Sulima, 2000, MS, TESOL

“The Criminal Justice Master’s Program is ‘top-shelf ’ and reserved for those who are serious students of the discipline. The faculty is first-rate and has developed challenging curricula that reflect current trends in the field and provide a solid foundation in the discipline. Faculty members are consistently available for consultation. The program provided personal enlightenment and enhanced my professional knowledge, skills, and abilities.”

– David M. Dubiel, 2008. MS, Criminal Justice

“I chose CCSU because the program was rigorous but flexible. During my four years as a graduate student, I was able to maintain a full-time teaching position while starting a family of three young children. The flexibility of course offerings allowed me to create schedules that worked for me. My advisor was always available and guided me to make choices about my program that extended my learning beyond the classroom. The knowledge I gained through my research allowed me to share new teaching techniques with my colleagues. I feel well prepared to teach as a result of my time spent at CCSU.”

– Angie Simpson, 2003, MS, Elementary Education

“With some trepidation, I decided to leave my New York City law practice of 16 years to embark upon a new career as a Licensed Professional Counselor. Thanks to my experiences in the Counseling & Family Therapy Department at CCSU, I am now embracing my new career choice. From the outset, the professors provided me with the guidance and support I needed to make this significant career transition. I have become energized by the coursework, the clinical experience, the professors, and by my fellow students.”

– Mary Melvin Ferguson, 2004, MS, Counseling & Family Therapy
