Wellness Events

Natural Helpers (approximately 20 volunteer students) work toward reducing substance abuse/use on campus. They conduct several National Wellness outreach programs on campus throughout the academic year.

Outreach events include:

National Alcohol Awareness Week          National Suicide Prevention Week

Depression Screening Week                   The Great American Smoke-Out

Healthy Eating Awareness Week            Healthy Relationships Week

Stress Busters

Natural Helpers disseminate alcohol and other drug prevention messages on campus at their events and during programs. They collaborate extensively with on and off campus departments, groups and organizations. They are used as a campus resource to help prevent substance use and abuse on campus and in the surrounding community.

On November, 7, 2009, CCSU Natural Helpers were recognized at the National BACCHUS Conference in Orlando, Florida, for Outstanding Creativity in Alcohol Abuse and Impaired Driving Prevention for the Alcohol Awareness Fair 2009.
