Sunday Maintenance – Reminder
Every Sunday, between 12:00am – 12:00pm, all systems will be intermittently unavailable while important maintenance and updates are performed
Willard Hall Lower Level Repair Work
The Information Technology Department has limited services in Walk-in Technology Support and the Media Center until further notice due to repair work.
Walk-in Technology Support is temporarily located in the IDTRC Annex, Willard Hall Room 003. The hours are Monday through Thursday, 10am - 4pm and Friday, 10am - 3pm.
The Media Center continues to have limited service capabilities until further notice.
Your BlueNet account password expires every 60 days. If you use a mobile device (smartphone, tablet, laptop) to connect to your CCSU e-mail account or the CCSU wireless network, please remember to update your password on your mobile device when you reset your BlueNet account password. Forgetting to update the password on your mobile device will result in your BlueNet account being locked out because the mobile device is trying to connect with an invalid password.
Blackboard Learn Access
The Blackboard link on our CentralPipeline pages for faculty/staff and students has been modified to reflect the completed transition to Blackboard Learn. The Blackboard link has been renamed “Blackboard Learn” and will now go directly to the Blackboard Learn log-in page. The Vista link is still found on the Pipeline pages but is listed as a bullet below the main link for Blackboard Learn.

If you have bookmarked Vista as a favorite in any browsers, those favorites will continue to work.
Default Save Location for Office Files
On Monday, July 29th, an update was done to all Windows-based computers to change the default location for saving Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files. Currently the default save location is the “Documents” folder on the hard drive of the computer, however for security purposes this will be changed to default to your personal netshare (the M: drive). You do not need to reboot your computer in order to receive this update, it will happen automatically the next time you log in to your computer after Monday evening’s update. If your computer does not receive this update, please contact the IT Help Desk.
Telecommunication Service Request Forms (TSR)
As summer is a busy season for Telecommunications, any telephone moves, adds, changes or disconnects needed for the start of the Fall semester must be received in the IT/Telecom Office by Friday, August 2, 2013. Any TSR’s received after this date cannot be guaranteed to be completed before the semester begins. TSR’s may be found on the Telecom website .
Green Printer Initiative
Do you have an OLD printer that isn’t doing too well and want a free upgrade? We have a limited number of duplex printers to help departments save on paper and reduce energy consumption. If you are interested in being considered for this program, please contact the IT Help Desk. Please be sure to provide the model number of your printer and state asset tag. These duplex printers are only for networked printing (which requires an available data drop), with a minimum of 4 people sharing the printer.
Personal Netshare (M drive) Capacity Updated
Good News! Everyone with a BlueNet account has been provided with additional storage space in your personal netshare (M drive). Faculty and staff accounts now have 25GB of storage space and student accounts now have 10GB of storage space. Your personal netshare (M drive) is the safest location to store your files because they are backed up nightly.
Summer Support Hours
Support hours will be shortened during the summer as follows:
Help Desk – Through Friday, August 16
- Monday through Thursday 8:00am – 6:00pm
- Friday 8:00pm – 5:00pm
- There will be limited support available after 6:00pm but only for classroom emergencies.
