Are you eligible for a new computer?

Information Technology Services is trying to adhere to this schedule to address computer upgrade needs.

  • Fall Semester: New faculty & staff
  • Intersession: Administrative Offices
  • Spring Semester: School of Education, School of Business, School of Arts & Sciences and School of Technology
  • Summer: Administrative Offices
How old is your computer?

IT determines the age of your computer based on its state asset tag number. The asset tag is normally located on the main piece of your computer (CPU) where the floppy and CD drives are housed. The number should begin with "78020."  If your asset tag is lower than 7802095500 and are a full-time employee at the University, you may be eligible for a computer upgrade.


Please note: These are the minimum hardware specifications.  Specifications are likely to change over the coming months, but not significantly.

With 2020 Bond funding, extra warranties (4 year or completecare) can no longer be purchased.    Additionally, IT did not receive a bond allocation in FY10 or FY11.  Computers eligible for upgrade can only be upgraded based on what is currently in stock at CCSU.
