This is a non-credit cultural enrichment program designed specifically for first-year and transfer students who have earned fewer than 30 credits at CCSU as of the registration deadline.

The Passport to Global Citizenship program offers CCSU students the opportunity to participate in a non-credit international experience.  The program is designed to introduce students to various international cultures, while strengthening career goals and promoting self-confidence.  The program reinforces the University's commitment to international education by providing all students with the opportunity to have an enriching international experience.

London, England is the destination of the winter session program.   Home of Big Ben and Buckingham Palace, London is the capital city of England and the United Kingdom.  A city tour will introduce the participants to famous landmarks including Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus, the financial and theatre districts, and historical heritage sites including the Palace of Westminster and Westminster Abby.  Visits to the British Museum and the National Gallery will acquaint students with the culture, history, and art of England, while attendance at two theater performances, will give students an opportunity to enjoy the entertainment venues available in the city.

Visits outside the city limits to Stonehenge and Bath and the University of Hertfordshire, one of CCSU’s partner universities, will give participants a broader view of England, its history, and scenic countryside.  While in the home of the oldest underground system – the “London Underground,” students will be able to use the very popular and famous rail system to explore places not included in the program itinerary during their free time.

Eligibility criteria for this program include: first-year standing at time of application (0-30 credits); matriculated full-time status in good academic and judicial standing (at time of application and departure); intention of continuing studies at CCSU in the Spring semester; and willingness to study abroad for a semester or year prior to graduation.  Transfer students who have earned fewer than 30 credits at CCSU are also eligible to participate.

Registration Information and Program Costs

The cost of the travel program includes round-trip airport transfers in the U.S. and abroad, economy-class international airfare, double- or triple-occupancy accommodations, some meals, and ground transportation and entrance fees to all required site visits. All personal expenses (i.e., medical, souvenirs, laundry, telephone, etc.) are not included.
