Summer Session

A student must be matriculated at CCSU, be enrolled for a minimum of six credit hours, and be making satisfactory progress to receive financial aid for summer school. In addition, the student must have a FAFSA on file with the Financial Aid Office for the current academic year which includes fall, spring, and summer..

The Financial Aid Office requires the student to submit a request for summer school aid beginning April 1st.  The one-page request form is available in the summer course catalog, online at www.ccsu.edu/finaid, or at the FA Office. A FA administrator determines if the student is eligible to receive financial aid and has not utilized all of his or her eligibility during the fall and spring semesters.  The student will be notified about his or her summer aid award and directed how to accept and sign it.

Summer financial aid is limited to the Direct Stafford Subsidized and Unsubsidized loans and Pell Grant if not already depleted, and private loans offered by any number of lenders.  Summer school registration is administered by the Registrar's Office.

The summer term is the last term of the current academic school year and the fall term begins a new academic year. You must file two separate FAFSA's if you plan to receive financial aid for both periods.

To apply for financial aid at CCSU, go to www.fafsa.ed.gov. Enter CCSU's Federal ID number - 001378 on the FAFSA.

Request a Personal Identification Number (PIN) at www.pin.ed.gov

-You need your PIN to electronically sign your FAFSA.

-You need your PIN to sign a Master Promissory Note for a Direct Stafford Loan.
