Sunday Maintenance Time change!

Every Sunday, between 12:00am – 12:00pm, all systems will be intermittently unavailable while important maintenance and updates are performed.



ConnSCU Network Maintenance Impacting Blackboard Learn – Sunday, March 17th and Sunday, March 24th

The ConnSCU Network will undergo critical maintenance the next two Sundays (March 17th and 24th) from 6am to 10am, during the scheduled Blackboard Learn maintenance window. Many services provided by the ConnSCU network will not be available INCLUDING Blackboard Learn. Please plan these times of inaccessibility into your schedules. Thank you for your patience while ConnSCU Networking performs this critical maintenance.

Blackboard Vista Phase-out:

The Instructional Design and Technology Resource Center would like to remind faculty that this is the last semester Vista will be available.  Any online, hybrid or web enhanced courses must be in Blackboard Learn starting with the Summer 2013 semester.


Blackboard Learn On-ground and NEW Online Training

We are offering more on-ground Blackboard Learn workshops to help you with the transition.   Please visit www.ccsu.edu/Learn to view the schedule and register.   Please check back often as sessions will be added throughout the semester. We are also offering Online Blackboard Learn Training through WebExThe schedule for the webinars will be forthcoming and will be posted at www.ccsu.edu/Learn.

Important Information about Microsoft Expression Web

We announced last year that we no longer have a site license for Microsoft Expression Web. We will be removing Expression Web from our Remote Application Server (Citrix). We still have a limited number of licenses for Expression Web for faculty/staff use to edit CCSU web sites, please contact the IT Help Desk to request to have it installed. Faculty, staff, and students may download a free copy of Expression Web to their personally-owned computers for personal use from http://www.microsoft.com/expression/. We have learned that Microsoft will be discontinuing support for Expression Web by 2015, therefore we recommend that you switch to Adobe Dreamweaver for web editing. Instructions for editing a CCSU web site with Adobe Dreamweaver are located here.


Important Information about the Virtual Private Network (VPN)

For security purposes, the ability to use the Network Connect feature of the VPN will be removed on Tuesday, March 12th. The Network Connect feature allowed for access to Banner INB and remote desktop connections from off-campus on potentially unsafe computers. Remote desktop connections are available via the Remote Application Server (Citrix). If you feel that you need this capability through the VPN, please e-mail the Help Desk at techsupport@ccsu.edu with a justification as to why you need it and your request will be considered
