Description
With both unsurpassed beauty and one of the warmest climates in Germany, the University of Freiburg is located in a picturesque valley on the western border of the Black Forest. Founded in 1457, it is the second oldest university in Germany. Students may enroll directly with German students and follow courses in the liberal arts or participate in a robust program of German language instruction. Numerous leisure activities can be found in the city itself or in nearby Alsace and Switzerland.

Students may follow an intensive language course (20 hours per week) in the Deutsch als Fremdsprache program (DaF) during their first semester.

Students will be housed in a student dormitory. Dormitory room reservations will be made by the international office or Auslandsamt of the host university.
