Planning and Conducting Action Research in the Classroom and School
Course Description:
This workshop will facilitate planning an action research project in the classroom. Examples of successful AR projects will be shared and the participant will leave the workshop with a specific plan that includes collecting and analyzing baseline data to identify areas of need, exploring research based strategies that can be implemented, and data analysis techniques that will guide the teacher researcher to implement a successful AR project.

Instructor Dr. Susan Seider is Professor of Teacher Education at CCSU. She has presented and published nationally and internationally on developing school action research projects and has taught a variety of action research courses including the elementary and special education masters capstones and the Masters of Arts in Teaching capstone. Dr. Seider has worked successfully for many years with schools to facilitate professional development action research projects that positively affect student achievement in disparate levels and content areas . Dr. Seider is a former recipient of the university’s Excellence in Teaching Award.
