Teaching Reading and Writing Strategies for the Common core within your Discipline

Course Description:
This workshop will share literacy strategies for content area teachers (grades 6-12) to assign their curriculum and instruction with the Common Core Standards (CCSS). Not all teachers need to be “teachers of reading,” but all teachers do need to help students, read, write, and think within their discipline (science, history, English, humanities). Participants will bring text from their content to analyze and plan targeted instruction in response to student needs and the CCSS.
