Project Management
Course Description:
This seminar provides an introduction to the concepts of the Strategic Management Process and a practical approach to working in a team environment to develop comprehensive project management plans. Particular focus will be towards issue definition and analysis, including internal and external factors, as well as developing comprehensive implementation plans. This seminar also addresses using the project plan document as a common communications vehicle throughout the organization as well as for managing upward and downward. Topics of the training include: Understanding the project planning process and fundamentals; Understanding why projects fail or succeed; Scanning and describing the environment, including analysis; Developing primary strategies, tasks, and resources; Understanding GAPs; Developing and implementing objectives and action steps; Monitoring for success; Intro to Microsoft Project (one day). Instructor Bob Kennedy is an Associate with Leadership Research Institute. Subsequent to joining LRI over 10 years ago, Bob’s work has primarily been in the area of organizational and leadership effectiveness. Bob takes great pride in helping business leaders achieve their individual, team, and organizational goals. His specialty is providing custom solutions to difficult problems, while demonstrating measurable increases in key areas, such as leader credibility, employee engagement, and customer loyalty. Bob has served clients in financial services, pharmaceutical, healthcare, and manufacturing industries. He received his B.S. in Finance from Central Connecticut State University, where he worked as an accountant in the business services department.
