Master Promissory Note & Loan Counseling

The  Direct Loan Master Promissory Note and Entrance Counseling requirements have to be completed online.

The Student Loans website has been designed to be a one-stop "shopping center" where you can complete the master promissory note and entrance counseling  requirements, review your loan account, and obtain informaton about loan repayment, consolidation and in some cases loan forgiveness.  

Select the function you wish to complete and then log in using your Federal Student Aid PIN.  

ENTRANCE AND EXIT COUNSELING

The counseling session is geared specifically to you as an undergraduate or graduate student, or parent.  You must complete the counseling session in one sitting for it to be entered into the system.   A parent borrower does not have to complete the entrance counseling session.

 You may complete both the Direct Loan or Direct PLUS Loan Master Promissory Note (MPN) before you log out or do one later. 

To complete the Exit Loan Counseling access www.nslds.ed.gov and click on "Exit Counseling".  You need to complete this requirement whenever you leave school and or graduate.

GRADUATE PLUS LOAN or PARENT PLUS LOAN

 To apply for the Graduate or Parent Plus Loan go to www.studentloans.gov.

The Perkins Loan
