David Naumec – Weapons of the Civil War
Dave Naumec, Military Historian for the Mashantucket Pequot Museum and a doctoral student at Clark University, is a Civil War weapons expert and a member of the North-South Skrimish Association. He is also a member of the Guns of Norwich, an organization devoted to the history of Connecticut-made antique firearms.
The Norwich Bulletin quoted Naumec, who said “Eastern Connecticut was just chock full of mills and manufacturers and when the Civil War started, Connecticut was able to switch from a peacetime economy to wartime economy very quickly.”
Naumec will display and discuss a variety of Civil War era weapons.
See Mr. Naumec's article on Connecticut contract rifle muskets. http://asoac.org/bulletins/90_naumec_1861.pdf
