50th Anniversary

We want to get started planning for the 50th Anniversary.  It may seem like a long way from now but it's closer than you think!  EOP just celebrated it's 43rd Summer Anniversary so the 50th is not far behind.  To get things started, you are invited to to a Central basketball game to renew acquaintances with present and former EOPers.  Hopefully, this will lead to a series of annual events leading up to the Big "50".  This and future events will help us to gather addresses, numbers and much needed information for future events.

EOP News and Scholarship Update

There are currently 187 active students enrolled in EOP.  Over twenty students are scheduled are on track to graduate between December 2011 and May 2012.  This year 24 EOP students have been offered financial assistance from the EOP Endowment funds.

For many of us, EOP was the summer that changed our lives.  Here is what one of EOP's most recent graduates has to say:

"Hard work and effort results in development,

awards, and success; but a support team is

                  needed to accomplish success".  CCSU's

faculty and EOP personnel have empowered

me to work to my fullest potential.  The EOP

Scholarship has assisted me with the ability to

get over my financial burdens and proceed with

                  earning a degree".

                                  Vincent Hill,

                                  EOP Class of 2009,

                                                        CCSU Graduation Class of 2012

Much of Vincent's success is due to the support of the alumni and friends who give back to the program.  Due to your support, the endowed scholarship fund is presently at $471,000 shy of half a million.  This fund provides much needed assistance for incoming and present EOP students and a few other students in financial need.

Linda and CJ Jones have challenged us to reach the half-million mark.  They have commited a grant of $6,000.00 to match gists made by the end of the fiscal year.  Your gift will have double the impact with this match!  When you make your annual gift to CCSU, you can designate your support to benefit EOP.  Make a gift on line at www.ccsu.edu/giving and indicate EOP.
