Music Department Computer Lab
Under the direction of Dr. Charles Menoche, the Music Department maintains a dedicated music computer lab within the music department (room 205). In addition to serving as the main classroom for a number of hands-on music technology courses (including the required Introduction to Music Technology course), the lab is also home to our piano classes.
In addition to standard productivity and web browsing software, the seventeen-station state of the art lab offers access to notation, MIDI sequencing, computer assisted instruction, sound synthesis, digital audio editing, and simple digital video editing software In Fall of 2004 the lab was upgraded with new 88-note keyboards and music computer lab furniture.
All music majors have access to the lab to complete both music-specific and general homework assignments as well as keyboard practice. The lab is also staffed by proctors throughout the week, offering access and limited assistance to students specified hours (schedule is posted outside the lab).
