Dance Teacher Certification

CCSU’s Department of Physical Education and Human Performance offers a formal pathway in dance education enabling students to earn dance certification.

The field of dance education has taken an exciting step forward in Connecticut's public schools.  As of July 2008, the Connecticut State Department of Education has developed guidelines for teacher certification in dance.  Certification is the license to teach in the public schools.

In collaboration with Naugatuck Valley Community College, the CCSU dance program now offers a formal pathway leading to cross-endorsement certification in dance, and has developed a program that enables students to earn dance certification.
