Crystal Nieves comes to CCSU from the Trinity College Queer Resource Center, where she has run LGBT campus life initiatives since its inception in 2008. She graduated from Trinity College in May of 2008 with a B.A. in Public Policy & Law and a minor in Human Rights. She is currently pursuing her Masters in Policy Analysis in the Trinity Graduate Public Policy Program. Her academic concentration was and continues to focus heavily on LGBT issues, including the political movement and experiences of the LGBT community  both domestically from a civil rights framework and abroad in a human rights context. She has a passion for LGBT and diversity student support services and has used her education and research to advise and develop the LGBTQI/A community and individuals at the Trinity and CCSU institutions and further the development their programs and resources.
