Mandatory Health Insurance
The Department of State expects all J-1 exchange students and their dependents (J-2) to have medical and repatriation insurance for the duration of their stay at Central Connecticut State University.
Minimum Coverage Requirement:
- Medical benefit of at least $50,000 per person
- Medical evacuation expenses of $10,000
- Repatriation coverage in the amount of $7,500
Exchange students with existing insurance policies that meet the criteria stipulated above can waive purchasing health insurance at CCSU, only if they are able to show proof of comparable insurance.
