Shanghai & Beijing

A comparative analysis of the Manufacturing and Construction techniques used in the China and the United States, this course is an investigation of the cultural impacts on production systems, labor, quality, and materials. Students will travel to Beijing and Shanghai visiting several industry and historic sites. This program will provide students with an opportunity to compare manufacturing and construction techniques used in the United States and China, and experience the history of Chinese culture through activities that will include: Visits to Chinese automotive factories and American factories with operation in China.
- An examination and comparison of building and highway construction techniques used in China and the US.
- Historical site visits which will include The Great Wall and The Forbidden City.
- An opportunity to meet with Chinese students and professors to better understand their educational process, ideas, and world views.
- The cost of the travel program includes round-trip airport transfers in the U.S. and abroad, international airfare, multiple-occupancy accommodations, and ground transportation & entrance fees to all required site visits.

$2,595 per person, to a maximum of 30 students
