CCSUEconomic and business journalist Thomas R. Keene, who is identifiable by his colorful bow ties and the charts he creates to illustrate his point, will speak at Central Connecticut State University on Wednesday, November 10 at 6:30 p.m., as part of the American Savings Foundation Endowed Chair’s Distinguished Banking and Finance Lecture Series presented by the School of Business.
Keene is editor-at-large for Bloomberg News and is nationally renowned for his efforts in interpreting and reporting on developments in the U.S. and world economies. His lecture, “Economic Recovery and the Challenges of a Jobless America,” is sponsored by the American Savings Foundation Endowed Chair and will be held in Davidson Hall’s Torp Theatre. The public is invited to this free event.
Keene hosts Surveillance Midday on Bloomberg Television and is co-host of Bloomberg Surveillance heard weekday mornings on Bloomberg Radio. A Tom Keene interview also appears each week in BusinessWeek, and also writes about economics, finance and investment in a blog called EconoChat for BusinessWeek.com.
He is a graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology and is a member of the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute, the National Association for Business Economics, and The Economic Club of New York.
