"Polish Americans and Baseball: Becoming American by Playing America's Game"

by Professor Neal Pease

An illustrated discussion of the historical relationship of Polish immigrants and their descendants with the American "National Pastime."

Neal Pease is Professor of History at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, with a specialty in modern Polish and central European history.  His boyhood dreams of athletic glory foreclosed by lack of talent, he compensates by occasionally teaching courses on baseball in American history, and publishing scholarly articles and essays on the connection between sport and ethnicity.

Admission is FREE and the public is cordially invited.
