Gently Used Book Drive

The Department of Literacy, Elementary and Early Childhood Education and The School of Education and Professional Studies at Central Connecticut State University is sponsoring the Waterbury and New Haven Reads Gently Used Book Drive.

We are issuing a challenge to those schools participating in 2016 heats. We invite you to conduct a drive that will culminate on the evening of your heat. Please let us know how many books you have collected so that on the evening we can acknowledge your school at the event. Arrange for pick up of 50 books or more with Alderwoman Stephanie Cummings alderwomancummings@waterburyct.org

Get your name or the name of your school on our Wall of Fame when you take the challenge and donate 200 gently used or new books. The Department of Literacy, Elementary and Early Childhood Education is taking the lead in donating 200 books for the 5th Annual Drive. Please join us in promoting a culture of literacy and a love of books in Connecticut.
