Educational resources in the form of flash card, game, manipulative, realia are boxed and circulate for 2 weeks. We also have "Kits" that contain artifacts from different countries such as Africa, France, India, Japan, Mexico, Poland, and Russia.
AIMS (Activities Integrating Mathematics and Science) Educational Foundation publishes books that go beyond the textbook and seek to provide tools for differentiated instruction or ideas for hands-on activities.
AIMS publications in the Curriculum Lab
Pictures by well-known artists, arranged by the artist's last name, and art depicting foreign locations, arranged by country, are housed in gray file cabinets in the Curriculum Lab Classroom. Material from these files is available when the classroom is not in use and is checked out by the Curriculum Lab for 2 weeks.
Video viewer, IBM Computer, Macintosh Computer available to preview videocassettes and computer software. Filmstrip viewer, audio cassette player, record player, and Apple IIGS are also available to preview media. Equipment is not available for loan.
These are oversized books suitable for story telling to primary grade children. Located in a wooden cabinet in front of stack hold juvenile picture books.
CD-Rom titles for IBM and the Macintosh software packages for EDT 210, 315, 415, and 490 are located by IBM and Macintosh computers.
The Curriculum Lab has retained filmstrips that have useful accompanying materials such as audio cassettes or printed material.
Great Explorations in Math and Science is a math/science series. A hand-out lists each title plus call number of the GEMS Guides located in the Curriculum Lab. Gems Guides in Curriculum Lab
J (Juvenile) designates an interest level of grades 4-6. YP (Young People) designates an interest level for grades 7-12. Fiction books are arranged alphabetically by the author's last name.

Jackdaws are primary source materials on a specific subject or historical event brought together in a packet that can be taken into the classroom. The primary resources include reproduced letters, telegrams, newspapers with transcript or translation if the document is difficult to read and detailed note when relevant. Current journals are displayed alphabetically on racks. Back issues are shelved along the back wall. Education journals, not housed in Curriculum Lab, are located in the Serials Department on the 4th floor of Burritt Library.

The reading/interest level for these books ranges from preschool to grade 3. Adults usually read these books to children. They are arranged alphabetically by the author's last name. These books circulate for 2 weeks.
The Kraus Curriculum Development Library offers selected curriculum guides from throughout the United States. Online index available on the Burritt Library website home page. These guides are available on microfiche and arranged by subject, followed by grade level. A brief description of each guide is available in the Kraus Binders (located by the entrance door) and on a CD-Rom mounted on the IBM Computer. A microfiche reader is located in the Curriculum Lab. Microfiche reader/printers are located in the Reference Deparment (just outside the Curriculum Lab door) and in the Serials Department located on the 4th floor.
Located in vertical files on the window wall of the Curriculum Lab, these files contain flyers, magazine articles, maps, etc. arranged by subject. Material from these files is checked out by the Curriculum Lab for 2 weeks.

Posters, packaged in circular tubes and located in gray map case, these posters circulate through the main circulation desk for a period of 2 weeks.
Professional Reading, designated by prefix PR, included books, activity guides, curriculum guides, etc for the education professional.
Bibliographies of children's books, reviews of children's literature, biographical information on children's authors and indexes to children's authors and literature are the most common reference items. Children's encyclopedias, dictionaries, and atlases are also found in this area. Reference books do not circulate.
Slides, housed in Kodak Carousel box or binders sheets, are located on the inside wall near the back doors.
Curriculum Lab houses audio tapes of children's songs and books as well as famous speeches and music from other countries. Audio tape players are located on the inside wall near the back doors.
Sample tests are cataloged and located on the low Juvenile Picture Book shelves. These tests do not circulate. Circulating tests may be placed on reserve by education faculty for students to use.
Textbooks, designated by the letter "C" and a subject numeral, are located in a separate section of the Curriculum Lab. The textbook series focus mainly on elementary and middle school levels. Series include student text, teacher edition, practice and support resources, assessment and technology supplements.

Children's stories, educational instruction, animals, history and geography videos are located in the Curriculum Lab workroom. A limit of 5 videotapes may be taken out for a period of two weeks. A video view is located outside the workroom door. More videos are available in the Media Room on the 4th floor.
