Praxis II Preparation

How should I best prepare for the Praxis II subject tests?

The best preparation for taking a subject area test should be the knowledge and experience a candidate has gained through related courses taken as part of a teacher preparation program.  Candidates may benefit from reviewing their notes and textbooks from past course work, especially as it relates to the "Topics Covered" section of the Tests at a Glance, which is available online at no charge.

Candidates also may find it helpful to practice with the sample test questions in the TAGG and review their responses in light of the answers provided in the booklet.  Candidates might also consider asking a mentor or professor to discuss the sample questions.

Finally, candidates are encourage to form study groups with other examinees, and to prepare for the tests as they would for any professional examination.
