Dr. Paulette
Lemma
is Associate Vice President of Academic
Affairs and Dean of the School of Graduate
Studies. She is also Interim Director of
the Center for International
Education during the 2007-2008 academic
year. Dr. Lemma oversees accreditation for
all degree programs and works closely with
faculty for
professional development efforts. She also
is involved in preparing the NEASC self
study reaccredidation report. She
is responsible for governance, standards,
practices, and admissions policies for the
graduate school, working closely with
faculty and in particular the Graduate
Studies Committee.
Dr. Lemma had an important role in creating
the University’s new
Ed.D. degree in educational
leadership, CCSU’s
first doctoral program. She
also oversees the Sponsored Programs office
that
secures
financial support for scholarly activities
through external and internal grants.
Dr. Lemma joined CCSU in 1988 as Assistant
Professor of Teacher Education, subsequently
became Department Chair, and, in 1997 full
professor. Among her many accomplishments,
Dr. Lemma served as coordinator of CCSU’s
Central Connecticut Professional Development
School Network and was the university
facilitator at the East Hartford-Glastonbury
Magnet School Partnership. Dr. Lemma,
an expert on teacher education, professional
development schools, and action research for
teachers, received her B.S., M.Ed. and Ed.D.
degrees from Pennsylvania State University,
where she also taught before coming to
Central. |
