Robert E. Cernock
was appointed Chief Information Officer in
2006. He is responsible for the
University’s academic and administrative
computing, the media center, computer
center, telecommunications, data and voice
networking, operation of the help desk, user
support services, and technical aspects of
distance and distributive education, both on
and off campus.
Mr. Cernock has a broad background in
information technology, having been in
charge of that function at Dominican
University in River Forest, Illinois, where
he was prior to his arrival at CCSU. He has
also been an adjunct professor in
Dominican's Graduate School of Library and
Information Sciences, teaching courses in
competitive intelligence, knowledge
management, and database design and
management. Earlier in his career, he gained
a broad background of management
responsibility with technology-based and
other companies in Chicago and along the
eastern seaboard.
Mr. Cernock, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran,
holds a Master of Science in Knowledge
Management from Dominican University, a
Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude in
Psychology from Rosary College in River
Forest, Ill., and has completed the Computer
Career Program and Executive Program at
DePaul University in Chicago. |
