CCSU TV is a service of the campus Media Center. The channel was launched in the fall of 2002 as part of a Strategic Planning Grant awarded to the department. The funds were awarded under the category of “Improving Internal Climate.” CCSU TV, located on cable channel 23 on campus, has grown to become a viable communication vehicle for our campus community. The Media Center maintains a campus bulletin board system called VidNet on the channel. VidNet runs continuously when there is no other video programming. General campus announcements, visitor information, and emergency announcements, including early closures, can be viewed here. Members of the campus community may submit announcements to the channel by visiting the CCSU TV web site at http://www.ccsu.edu/media/tv.html and completing the web form. Announcements are updated weekly by a student worker in the Media Center.

CCSU TV also provides unique television programming. Two programs produced in-house are the award winning Central Arts and Central Authors. Special events such as high profile campus speakers, the Opening Meeting, and Vance Lectures are included in the programming line up. On occasion, the channel programs a selection of shows submitted by production students in the Communication department. CCSU TV also provides a selection of unique acquired programming: NASA, World Business Review, and New Visions Syndication during the day and National Lampoon Network and Zilo TV for the late night college audience. All of this programming is provided at no cost to the University. In addition to CCSU TV, the Media Center maintains two curriculum support channels (69 & 71) for special event use, satellite feeds, and teleconferences.
